These Mastodon gloves were purchased for motorcycle riding in winter. They are the most effective wind diminishing insulated shells I've owned to date. With an additional liner, they are quite effective with temperatures in the upper 30's and above. However, below that temperature, fingertips continue to become increasingly cold. The water resistant aspect of the shell is also a plus. Because of the humidity in Florida, cold weather riding is dismayingly unpleasant, even in the 30's and below.

I use the gloves in doing chores on my farm and in cross country sking on same. I find them very warm even in 20 below weather. They are also light weight and flexible so that I can do many small delicate tasks without removing.
