How does the PEET Shoe Dryer work?
The PEET Shoe Dryer dries using silent thermal convection. It pulls room temperature air through the rear vents on the dryer. Then the low power, 18 watt heating element inside each tube warms the air which rises up to circulate through your footwear and dry the boots or shoes overnight. It does not use forced hot air which can dry out leather and ruin shoes.

We live in a high rainfall, high humidity area of Hawaii. Because we are on a farm it is necessary to wear work boots. Shoes get moist from perspiration as well as outside moisture. It is very easy to get icky feet. So far, it appears that using the dryer is reducing the need to use foot powders and anti-fungal treatments on our feet. I expect that using the dryer will also help to keep the leather in our boots in better shape. One thing I would like on the dryer is an off switch, or maybe a timer that could dry for a certain time then turn off. Even with the low power consumption of the unit, it is important to me to minimize unneeded power usage. I can probably get a suitable timer at the hardware store. Thanks!

Extremely pleased with this product. We use it every day to dry our working shoes & it eliminates odor from the shoe. It is also a welcome treat to put on warmed boots & shoes in the winter.

No fan, no noise, and a reasonably frugal use of electricity were the reasons we choose this shoe dryer. It functions as promised. The low power/low noise means it takes a little longer to dry hiking boots when they are totally soaked, but "overnight" is more than timely for our use. Morning runs through the dew-wet fields is now so much less of a project; just stick the shoes on the dryer afterwards and done.
